SELLER PENALTY POLICY

Last Updated: September 11, 2026

This Seller Penalty Policy (“Policy”) explains how Azoomar manages violations committed by sellers and vendors using the Azoomar marketplace.

Azoomar is committed to maintaining a safe, reliable, transparent, and trustworthy marketplace for customers and sellers.

All sellers are expected to comply with:

  • Azoomar’s Terms and Conditions;
  • Azoomar’s Seller/Vendor Terms and Conditions;
  • Azoomar’s Prohibited and Restricted Products Policy;
  • Azoomar’s Privacy Policy;
  • Applicable laws and regulations in Cameroon;
  • Applicable laws and regulations in destination markets where relevant;
  • Any additional marketplace rules communicated by Azoomar.

Violations may result in warnings, penalties, listing restrictions, temporary suspension, financial consequences where permitted, or permanent removal from the Azoomar marketplace.

1. Purpose of This Policy

The purpose of this Policy is to:

  • Protect customers from poor or fraudulent transactions;
  • Encourage sellers to provide reliable service;
  • Maintain product quality and authenticity;
  • Reduce cancellations, delays, and order failures;
  • Prevent fraud and abuse;
  • Protect Azoomar and its sellers;
  • Establish a fair and predictable enforcement system.

Azoomar may consider the seriousness, frequency, impact, and circumstances of a violation when determining the appropriate action.

2. Seller Responsibilities

Every seller on Azoomar is responsible for ensuring that:

  • Products listed are legal and permitted;
  • Product descriptions are accurate;
  • Prices and product information are accurate;
  • Products are authentic where authenticity is claimed;
  • Orders are properly processed;
  • Products are available for sale when listed as available;
  • Orders are shipped or delivered within the stated timeframe;
  • Customers receive the products they purchased;
  • Products are properly packaged;
  • Returns and refunds are handled according to Azoomar’s policies;
  • Customer communications are professional and appropriate;
  • Seller account information remains accurate;
  • Applicable licenses, permits, and authorizations are maintained where required.

3. Types of Seller Violations

Seller violations may include, but are not limited to:

3.1 Order Cancellation

A seller may receive a penalty for repeatedly cancelling confirmed orders without a legitimate reason.

Examples include:

  • Selling products that are actually out of stock;
  • Accepting an order and refusing to fulfill it without justification;
  • Repeatedly cancelling orders because of incorrect pricing caused by seller error.

Azoomar may distinguish between occasional legitimate cancellations and repeated or abusive cancellations.

3.2 Failure to Ship or Fulfill Orders

Sellers are expected to fulfill confirmed orders within the timeframe communicated to customers.

Repeated failure to:

  • Prepare orders;
  • Ship orders;
  • Provide products;
  • Meet stated fulfillment times;

may result in penalties.

3.3 Late Fulfillment

Repeated delays in preparing or handing over orders may negatively affect a seller’s account standing.

Azoomar may consider the seller’s stated processing time and circumstances outside the seller’s reasonable control.

3.4 Incorrect or Incomplete Products

Penalties may apply where customers repeatedly receive:

  • The wrong product;
  • The wrong quantity;
  • The wrong size or variant;
  • Missing components;
  • Products significantly different from the listing.

3.5 Damaged or Poorly Packaged Products

Sellers are responsible for taking reasonable precautions to ensure products are appropriately packaged for delivery.

Repeatedly sending products that arrive damaged because of inadequate packaging may result in penalties.

3.6 Counterfeit or Inauthentic Products

Selling counterfeit, fake, or falsely represented branded products is a serious violation.

Depending on the circumstances, Azoomar may immediately remove the listing and suspend or terminate the seller’s account.

Additional action may be taken where required or permitted by law.

3.7 Prohibited or Restricted Products

Listing products that violate Azoomar’s Prohibited and Restricted Products Policy may result in:

  • Removal of the listing;
  • Warning;
  • Temporary selling restriction;
  • Account suspension;
  • Permanent account termination.

Serious or illegal products may result in immediate suspension without a prior warning.

3.8 Misleading Product Information

Sellers must provide accurate information about their products.

Violations may include:

  • False specifications;
  • Misleading product photographs;
  • False claims;
  • Incorrect product condition;
  • False origin information;
  • False brand information;
  • Concealing important defects.

Repeated or intentional deception may result in severe penalties.

3.9 Manipulation of Reviews or Ratings

Sellers must not artificially manipulate their reputation on Azoomar.

Prohibited activities include:

  • Creating fake customer accounts;
  • Posting fake reviews;
  • Paying people to leave misleading reviews;
  • Asking customers to provide dishonest reviews;
  • Threatening customers over negative reviews;
  • Manipulating ratings through fraudulent transactions.

Such conduct may result in immediate account restrictions or termination.

3.10 Fraudulent Activity

Fraud is considered a serious violation.

Examples include:

  • Providing false seller information;
  • Using fraudulent documentation;
  • Attempting to obtain payments through deception;
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions;
  • Manipulating orders;
  • Using stolen payment information;
  • Conducting transactions designed to defraud customers or Azoomar.

Azoomar may immediately suspend an account while investigating suspected fraudulent activity.

3.11 Circumventing Azoomar Rules

Sellers must not attempt to bypass Azoomar’s systems, policies, or enforcement actions.

This includes:

  • Creating a new account after suspension;
  • Using another person’s account to continue selling;
  • Deliberately changing business information to evade enforcement;
  • Circumventing product restrictions;
  • Attempting to manipulate Azoomar’s commission or payment systems.

3.12 Abusive or Unprofessional Conduct

Sellers must communicate with customers and Azoomar staff respectfully.

Prohibited conduct may include:

  • Threats;
  • Harassment;
  • Hate-based abuse;
  • Intimidation;
  • Repeatedly abusive communications;
  • Attempts to pressure customers into cancelling legitimate complaints.

Serious cases may result in immediate suspension.

4. Penalty Levels

Azoomar generally uses a progressive enforcement system.

However, Azoomar may skip one or more levels where a violation is particularly serious.

Level 1 — Warning

For minor or first-time violations, Azoomar may issue a warning.

The seller may be required to correct the problem within a specified period.

Level 2 — Formal Penalty

Repeated or more significant violations may result in restrictions such as:

  • Removal of affected listings;
  • Temporary listing restrictions;
  • Reduced selling privileges;
  • Mandatory corrective action;
  • Temporary limitation of certain marketplace features.

Level 3 — Temporary Suspension

A seller may be temporarily suspended from selling on Azoomar.

During suspension, the seller may be unable to:

  • Create new listings;
  • Receive new orders;
  • Access certain seller features;
  • Participate in certain marketplace activities.

The duration of suspension depends on the seriousness of the violation and the seller’s history.

Level 4 — Permanent Termination

Azoomar may permanently terminate a seller’s account for serious or repeated violations.

Examples may include:

  • Fraud;
  • Counterfeit products;
  • Serious customer deception;
  • Repeated prohibited-product violations;
  • Serious safety violations;
  • Repeated attempts to circumvent previous penalties;
  • Conduct that creates significant risk to customers, sellers, Azoomar, or the public.

5. Seller Performance

Azoomar may monitor seller performance using indicators such as:

  • Order cancellation rate;
  • Late fulfillment rate;
  • Order defect rate;
  • Customer complaints;
  • Return and refund rates;
  • Product authenticity complaints;
  • Product quality complaints;
  • Response to customer inquiries;
  • Policy violations;
  • Fraud or security indicators.

Performance standards may be adjusted as Azoomar grows and develops its marketplace.

6. Financial Consequences

Where permitted by applicable law and the seller’s contractual agreement with Azoomar, certain violations may result in financial consequences.

These may include:

  • Refund-related deductions;
  • Reimbursement of certain customer claims;
  • Recovery of costs resulting from a seller’s violation;
  • Temporary withholding or delay of seller funds while a transaction or suspected fraud is investigated;
  • Other contractual charges expressly disclosed to sellers.

Azoomar will not impose financial penalties that are inconsistent with applicable law or the seller’s contractual terms.

7. Customer Refunds and Seller Responsibility

Where a customer is entitled to a refund because of a seller-related issue, Azoomar may process or facilitate the refund in accordance with its Refund and Return Policy.

Seller-related issues may include:

  • Product not received;
  • Incorrect product;
  • Significantly misrepresented product;
  • Damaged product;
  • Counterfeit product;
  • Product materially different from the listing.

Where permitted by the applicable seller agreement, the resulting amount may be recovered from the seller.

8. Multiple Violations

Azoomar may consider a seller’s complete compliance history when determining a penalty.

Repeated violations may result in progressively stronger enforcement even when individual violations are relatively minor.

A seller who repeatedly violates marketplace rules may therefore receive a stronger penalty than a seller committing the same violation for the first time.

9. Serious Violations

Azoomar may take immediate action without first issuing a warning where there is reasonable evidence of serious misconduct.

Serious violations may include:

  • Fraud;
  • Counterfeit products;
  • Illegal products;
  • Products presenting significant safety risks;
  • Identity or documentation fraud;
  • Financial fraud;
  • Exploitation or abuse;
  • Serious threats or harassment;
  • Attempts to evade suspension;
  • Conduct that creates a significant risk to customers or the marketplace.

Immediate action may include listing removal, account suspension, transaction cancellation, or permanent termination.

10. Investigations

When Azoomar receives a complaint or identifies potentially serious misconduct, we may conduct an investigation.

During an investigation, Azoomar may:

  • Review relevant order information;
  • Review product listings;
  • Review communications conducted through Azoomar;
  • Request additional information or documentation;
  • Contact the seller;
  • Contact affected customers;
  • Temporarily restrict certain seller activities;
  • Take other reasonable measures necessary to protect the marketplace.

Sellers are expected to cooperate with reasonable investigations.

Providing false or misleading information during an investigation may constitute an additional violation.

11. Seller Appeals

Where applicable, sellers may appeal certain penalties.

An appeal should include:

  • Seller name;
  • Relevant order or listing information;
  • Description of the issue;
  • Explanation of why the penalty should be reconsidered;
  • Supporting evidence, where available.

Appeals may be submitted through:

Seller Dashboard → Admin Support → Submit a Request

Azoomar may review the available information and determine whether the penalty should be maintained, modified, or removed.

Some enforcement actions involving serious legal, fraud, security, or safety concerns may not be reversible through the ordinary appeal process.

12. Seller Account Reinstatement

A suspended seller may be eligible for reinstatement depending on the reason for suspension.

Azoomar may require the seller to:

  • Correct the underlying issue;
  • Remove prohibited listings;
  • Provide additional information;
  • Demonstrate compliance;
  • Complete corrective measures;
  • Agree to additional marketplace requirements.

Reinstatement is not guaranteed.

13. No Waiver of Legal Rights

Nothing in this Policy prevents Azoomar from taking action required or permitted by applicable law.

Likewise, nothing in this Policy limits any rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Where necessary, Azoomar may report suspected illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.

14. Changes to This Policy

Azoomar may update this Seller Penalty Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes to the marketplace;
  • New seller requirements;
  • Changes in applicable laws;
  • New risks or fraud patterns;
  • Changes to our enforcement procedures.

The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
